HNLMS Bruinvis S810
HNLMS Bruinvis S810 is a Walrus Class Attack Submarine of the Royal Netherlands Navy and we see Bruinvis as she leaves Devonport Naval Base and passes Devil's Point Steps on 13th March 2017. A class of four, the Walrus Class are 2650 tons submerged and are 222 feet long with a beam of 28 feet. Powered by three SEMT Pielstick 12PA4V200SM diesels engines which generate 5430shp, they can reach a speed of 20 knots submerged. With a crew of between 50 and 55, HNLMS Bruinvis was the last of the Walrus class to be constructed, being laid down on 14th April 1988, launched in May 1992, and finally commissioned on 5th July 1994. HNLMS Evertsen F805, a 6,050 ton De Zeven Provincien Class Frigate of the Royal Netherlands Navy is seen from Carew Wharf at Torpoint and arrives at Devonport Naval Base on 24th February 2017. Launched in 2003 and commissioned on 10th June 2005, Evertsen is 473' long, with a beam of almost 62 feet and draught of 17'0", using both diesel and gas turbine propulsion, and is equipped with two Wärtsilä 16 V26 diesel engines (of 5,600hp each) and twin Rolls Royce Spey SM 1C gas turbines, which generate 24,800hp each and has a maximum speed of 28 knots. HNLMS Schiedam M860 is a Alkmaar Class Minehunter of the Royal Netherlands Navy and we see her as she leaves Devonport Naval Base at Devil's Point on 13th March 2017. HNLMS Van Speijk F828, a Karel Doorman class frigate of the Royal Netherlands Navy, leaves Devonport Naval Base at Mutton Cove on 3rd July 2017. HNLMS Van Speijk was laid down at Schelde Naval Shipbuilding in Vlissingen on 1st October 1991, launched 26th March 1994, and commissioned on 7th September 1995.
