HMS Scott H131
HMS Scott H131 is the sole member of the Scott Class of Survey Ships operated by the Royal Navy, and we see her as she passes Royal William Yard and Mutton Cove as she returns to her home at Devonport Naval Base on 24th March 2017. Named after the Plymouth born Antarctic explorer Capt Robert Falcon Scott, at almost 15,000 tons she is the fourth largest vessel in the Royal Navy after Ocean, Albion and Bulwark, (all of which are based at Devonport), and the largest survey ship in Western Europe. Launched in October 1996 and commissioned on 30th June 1997, HMS Scott is 430 feet long with a beam of 71 feet, and is powered by twin Krupp MaK 9M32 9-cylinder diesel engines. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=MH97gRcehD8
HMS Scott H131 is the Royal Navy's only ocean survey vessel and at 13,500 tonnes is the fifth largest ship in the fleet, and we see HMS Scott as she leaves Devonport at Devil's Point on 13th June 2016.
